Paris has been a dream destination for many. The iconic architecture, the delicate French cuisine, the abundant and rich arts and culture scene, the funky cafes and underground venues. The list goes on. This is a place that is full of diversity and everyone can find something they like here. One day in Paris may seem too short to experience this culture giant. But you can still see (and eat) a lot in 24 hours.

We hand-picked some of the fabulous places you shouldn’t miss

1/ Shakespeare & Company

If you are a die hard book lover, you must have heard about this famous English language bookstore in Paris.

A row of well-known writers like Ernest Hemingway, F.Scott Fitzgerald has left footprints here. Now, it has transformed to a gathering place for writers like Langston Hughes and Ray Bradbury. This little bookstore is full of history and it has stored a lot of beautiful books. You should definitely check it out.

Secret tips: You can see Notre Dame through the second floor window

2/ Luxembourg Gardens

The Luxembourg Gardens are not just simple gardens. This is the perfect example of Parisian beautiful architecture style. Located inside Luxembourg Palace, the garden is blessed with abundant flowers in harmonious colours. The gardens are beautiful in both summer and winte. But of course, a visit in summer is undoubtedly better.

3/ The Louvre

A visit to Paris without the Louvre is incomplete. Due to its fame, there is always a long queue for this world famous museum. If you really want to visit this museum, please buy your tickets online in advance and use the quieter Carrousel entrance in the mall. This will save you a lot of time.

4/ Latin Quarter

Latin Quarter is a neighbourhood that is full of little bistros, independent boutiques and cosy bookshops. It’s also home to the Sorbonne University, one of the oldest colleges in Europe.

If you want to explore some hidden gems, Rue Mouffetard is one of the most historic streets to explore. Walking in this quarter, you will feel like you are back to the old times.

5/ Hot chocolate at Cafe de Flore

After a long day of walking around Paris, it’s time to sit down and enjoy the taste of Paris. Cafe de Flore is believed to have the best hot chocolate in Paris. It is also the hang out place for intellectuals in the 20th century.

It is a very touristy place, but the hot chocolate doesn’t disappoint — rich, thick and devilish chocolatey.

It has a tourist price tag (expensive!) but the deco and the vibe is definitely worth a visit.

Let your feet lead you

Paris is full of surprises. The above are just some iconic sights. The best way to visit a city is to get lost, let your feet wander or your nose follow the scent of the street.

Paris is a beauty on its own. No matter where you go, you will only be enchanted.
